Senator Jane Hume

Jane Hume is the Shadow Minister for Finance, the Public Service, and the Shadow Special Minister of State.

A Liberal Party Senator from Victoria, she was elected in July 2016. Born and raised in Melbourne, Senator Hume holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and later returned to earn additional qualifications in Political Science.

Recognised for her extensive experience in corporate and philanthropic sectors, she was appointed Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Economics (Legislation) upon entering the Senate.

Senator Hume has held several Ministerial roles, including Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and the Digital Economy, and Minister for Women’s Economic Security.
