Getting here

Located at the heart of Richmond less than 4 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Bridge Road is a cinch to get to by public transport, car, bike and on foot.

Tram

Trams arrive and depart the entire length of Bridge Road all day, every day. Trams 48 and 75 will connect you effortlessly from the CBD to Balwyn and Hawthorn respectively, while 78 will take you via Cremorne, South Yarra and Windsor.

Train

You’ll find getting to Bridge Road by train a breeze. West Richmond Station, serviced by any train on the city loop via the Hurstbridge and Mernda lines, is just two stops from Flinders Street Station. Once you’ve alighted at West Richmond, it’s a leisurely, scenic walk along a couple of storied laneways to Bridge Road.

Car

Whether you’re coming from north, south, east or west, Bridge Road’s central location is super accessible via Melbourne’s major freeway networks through regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne.

From the Eastern Freeway, cruise down Hoddle Street then turn left onto Bridge Road.
From the Monash Freeway, take the E3 exit for Yarra Blvd towards Tourist Drive 2 and turn right onto Burnley Street.
From the Westgate Freeway, take exit W1 to merge onto Power Street towards the city, turn right onto City Road and continue along Alexandra Parade and Olympic Boulevard, turn left onto Punt Road, then right onto Bridge Road.

From Citylink, along the Bolte Bridge, then veer left to take exit 1E for M1/Westgate Freeway towards SE Suburbs, then follow the Westgate Freeway directions the rest of the way.

Make sure to plan your visit around Monday and Friday clearway times: 7:00-9:15am citybound and 4:30-6:30pm east-bound.

Richmond Traders also offers free two-hour parking on the corner of Bridge Road and Church Street.

On foot

From the CBD, Bridge Road is a lovely walk east down Flinders Street and Wellington Parade, past the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens and historic MCG.
